McGaughey

Class every Thursday in October '23 will be with Sara Mcgaughey at Chapter Arts, Cardiff

About Sara
Sara is a trained actress, fitness, Pilates, and yoga teacher. She also undertook a preliminary dance training course at Rubicon Dance and was awarded a Paul Hamlyn professional placement where she had the opportunity of experiencing community dance in a variety of settings from schools to centres for the elderly. She is passionate about sharing the benefits of movement for all, and is an encouraging and inclusive teacher- adapting, modifying, or progressing depending on the needs of her students.

About the class

Over the four weeks, this practice will include the opportunity to learn how to measure and record our current level of aerobic fitness and of our muscular strength and endurance using easy techniques, and minimal equipment. There will be the opportunity to move to the beat of some retro club tunes with simple repetitive functional movements, and choreography. The level of energy you bring will be up to you, and how you feel on a particular day!  Floor work, will include a combination of calisthenics, Yoga, and Pilates, and will end with breath and relaxation techniques for rest and recovery.

Sara hopes that these classes will be both enjoyable and informative, offering the kind of supplemental training, that will help reduce fatigue, improve general energy levels, and ultimately help the performer be more prepared physically and mentally for the demands of both their professional practice, and everyday lives.

PLEASE NOTE:

Indoor trainers are recommended for some parts of the class and a watch or app to time a minute when measuring your heart rate in week 1 and 4.
