Set up in 2015 as Groundwork Pro by freelance artist's: Joanna Young, Deborah Light, Jessie Brett, Beth Powelsland and Chloe Loftus to respond to the needs of the local professional dance ecology.

Over the years the programme's core tîm members have changed as freelancers independent practices grow, shift and change. Over the years the following artists have been apart of the Groundwork Tîm: Lara Ward, Zosia Jo, Elan Elidyr, Jodi Ann Nicholson, Sophie Lorimer, Indigo Tarran and Saoirsa Anton have looked after and shaped the collective.

The current team is made up of: Lara Ward, Elan Elidyr, Jodi Ann Nicholson, Sophie Lorimer, Indigo Tarran and Zosia Jo.

Groundwork Collective's mission is to connect and nourish freelance dance and movement artists as well as to make space that is inclusive and inviting for people to keep moving their bodies, whether they consider themselves professional or not.

We support, sustain and inspire professional dance artists through opportunities to delve into different dance practices in classes and workshops, mentoring opportunities, spaces to play, create and share creative ideas through residencies and scratch events and more!

Creating inclusive and inviting spaces for people to keep moving their bodies without judgement is important to us because we recognise the undeniable impact it has on individual's wellbeing and community connection.

Our yearly program's are funded by the Arts Council of Wales, and have additional support from Chapter Arts and NDCWales.

Our programme is shaped by these three key focuses: Dance, Move & Make read below to read more.

Cydweithfa a arweinir gan artistiaid yw Groundwork Collective, sydd wedi’i lleoli yng Nghaerdydd.

Sefydlwyd yn 2015 fel Groundwork Pro gan artistiaid llawrydd: Joanna Young, Deborah Light, Jessie Brett, Beth Powelsland a Chloe Loftus i ymateb i anghenion yr ecoleg ddawns broffesiynol leol.

Dros y blynyddoedd mae aelodau craidd y rhaglen wedi newid wrth i arferion annibynnol gweithwyr llawrydd dyfu, symud a newid. Dros y blynyddoedd mae’r artistiaid canlynol wedi bod yn rhan o dîm Groundwork: Lara Ward, Zosia Jo, Elan Elidyr, Jodi Ann Nicholson, Sophie Lorimer, Indigo Tarran a Saoirsa Anton sydd wedi gofalu am y grŵp a’i siapio.

Y tîm presennol ydi: Lara Ward, Elan Elidyr, Jodi Ann Nicholson, Sophie Lorimer, Indigo Tarran a Zosia Jo.

Cenhadaeth Groundwork ydi i gysylltu a maethu artistiaid llawrydd ac artistiaid symud, ynghyd a chreu gofod sydd yn hygyrch ac yn gwahodd pobl i symud eu cyrff, os ydynt yn ystyried eu hunain yn broffesiynol neu beidio.

Rydym yn cefnogi, cynnal ac ysbrydoli artistiaid dawns proffesiynol trwy gyfleoedd i dreiddio i wahanol arferion dawns mewn dosbarthiadau a gweithdai, cyfleoedd mentora, mannau i chwarae, creu a rhannu syniadau creadigol trwy breswyliadau a digwyddiadau Scratch a mwy!

Mae creu mannau cynhwysol a chroesawgar i bobl allu parhau i symud eu cyrff heb farn yn bwysig i ni oherwydd rydym yn cydnabod yr effaith ddiymwad y mae'n ei chael ar les unigolion a chysylltiadau cymunedol.

Mae ein rhaglenni blynyddol yn cael eu hariannu gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru, gyda chefnogaeth ychwanegol gan Chapter Arts a CDCCymru.
